Job Description

Qualifications and skills:

  • Multi-disciplinary environmental or natural resource management background with a Master’s degree in Environmental /Civil Engineering or similar field;


General professional experience:

  • 5 years’ international experience including considerable experience as team leader in the related field and have a good understanding of the social and economic aspect of vulnerability;


Specific professional experience:

  • Substantive experience (5 years) and analytical skills in climate adaptation, disaster risk management and reduction from Southern Africa;
  • A good understanding and experience of approaches, processes, procedures and policies for integrating climate resilience into design standards and norms;
  • Proven team building skills;
  • Experience in developing adaptation projects and programs will be sought;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (in English).


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the entire project and lead in the delivery of all project activities, playing a key role in development of climate resilient standards and norms.
