Job Description

This Opportunity:

Palladium is seeking long-term candidates for a USAID funded program in Indonesia, titled Protecting Orangutans in Sumatra and Kalimantan (PRIMATA). The PRIMATA project will focus on conserving Indonesia’s orangutan populations through three objectives: 1) Effective implementation of incentives for the co-management of orangutans and their habitat 2) Strengthen local stakeholders’ capacity and commitment for orangutan protection and human-wildlife conflict management 3) Strengthen evidence-based decision making on orangutan population and habitat management. The project duration is 60 months.

  • These positions will be based in Jakarta, Sumatra, or Kalimantan and are contingent upon funding availability and USAID approval.

Key Competencies Required:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in forestry, environment, biodiversity conservation, international development, or natural resource related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field of expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs.
  • Prior experience working in Indonesia is required. Experience working with the Indonesian government preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesian is required.
