Functional responsibilities

The Technical Procurement Specialist will:
  • Establishing for different types of commodities mentioned (heavy machinery, vehicles, electric vehicles and peripherals, access to energy systems) a set of comprehensive specifications that will be used by the UN Web Buy team in Copenhagen to publish suitable tenders
  • Review and update specifications for categories where LTAs need to be renewed
  • Answer potential requests for clarifications from bidders during tender publication stage
  • Perform the technical evaluation and come up with technical evaluation report in compliance with Procurement procedures, in order to award Long-term Agreement (LTA) contract(s) to one or several suppliers



Education/Experience/Language requirements


a. Education

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the field of vehicle engineering or other relevant type of mechanical engineering;
  • Bachelor’s degree with an additional two years of relevant work experience will be accepted in lieu of a Master’s/advanced university degree.


b. Work Experience

  • With an advanced university/Master’s degree, at least 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Motor Vehicles and Heavy Equipment (design, manufacturing, procurement, sales, maintenance and repair, fleet management, etc.);
  • Experience in procurement of Motor Vehicles and Heavy machinery Equipment;
  • Experience of procurement with UNOPS and in the UN is an asset.


c. Languages

  • Fluency in English. Fluency in Other UN language will be considered an advantage.
