About the Role

We are currently seeking to fill a Technical Project Officer role and seeking expressions of interests from those who are either studying or recently graduated from an Infrastructure related technical discipline such as engineering, architecture or similar. This is an opportunity to become part of our dynamic team and embed your career in International Development. Reporting to the Manager – Project Services, the Technical Project Officer contributes to Cardno’s success by providing administrative and technical support to management and across projects within the International Development – Physical Infrastructure Business Unit.

This role will include the following:

· Provide high level administrative support (including word processing, document management and general project related tasks) for project teams as well as to the regional staff and management

· Ensure good governance on projects, such as assisting with taking and distributing minutes in Project Progress Meetings

· Facilitate mobilisation and demobilisation processes for new starters and managing relocation of Project staff

· Monitor and distribute relevant communications within head office and with overseas projects as directed

· Oversee the management and filing processes of project, individual and marketing information using in-house systems

· Assist with and arrange authorisation of funds requests

· Process documentation and liaise with Financial Support Services in the preparation of invoices to clients

· Collect, review and process expenses and claims for payments against contracts

· Track and report on project/personnel activities, such as travel, status of accommodation (rental leases) etc.

· Monitor and maintain IDPI sub-contractors registers that include contracts, insurances, compliance etc.

· Maintain the asset register for designated projects

· Ensure timesheets for designated personnel and project staff are submitted within required timeframes

· Manage the Project teams SharePoint site

· Participate in quality management and improving processes as part of the Operations Team.

· All other duties as outlined in the position description

The successful applicant will have the following:

· A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related discipline

· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

· Ability to quickly understand and adapt to task requirements and changing project needs.

· Interpersonal skills to allow for harmonious working relationships within the unit, office, clients and suppliers.

· Resilient attitude for handling differing types of personalities.

· Mature and professional approach to work.

· Keen to learn existing systems of company and identify process efficiencies.

· Professional presentation and approach to working with others.

· Reliable and trustworthy nature when dealing with confidential issues and staff at all levels.

· Strong attention to detail and focus to ensure results are to a high quality
