1M Pakistanis Remain Displaced, Oxfam Says

Some 1 million people in Pakistan remain internally displaced and crammed in emergency relief camps despite the Pakistani government declaring several conflict-affected areas already safe, Oxfam reported. The international aid agency says these IDPs are reluctant to leave displacement camps because of a lack of safe water, medical assistance and electricity in their former homes. Funding for programs supporting these IDPs is drying up, Oxfam adds.
