The Haitian government did not conduct consultations with local authorities and ordinary citizens in drafting its plan of relocating earthquake survivors to the north of Port-au-Prince, ActionAid said.
“The government has not taken people’s needs into account in its relocation plans. Ordinary people and local authorities have not been consulted,” ActionAid’s Haiti country director Jean Claude Fignole said. “The government should also identify smaller sites in different locations around the city which are appropriate for the homeless.”
