The Asian Development Bank has earmarked USD130 million to help establish a new trust fund aimed at bolstering financial stability and long-term investment in Asia and the Pacific. The Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility is also being supported by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, China, Japan and Korea with a USD570 million contribution. The fund, which will start operations in 2011, will provide guarantees on local currency-denominated bonds issued by companies in the region.
