The Asian Development Bank spends billions of dollars every year on loans, grants, and technical assistance agreements in the Asia Pacific region. It is one of the largest sources of financing for the region, which focuses on reducing poverty.
According to the data from their awards portal, ADB has lent a total of $39.7 billion for contract awards during 2018-2022, as well as contributing $1.8 billion in grants and technical assistance.
In 2018, the ADB released its 2030 strategy which identified priority areas including poverty reduction, gender inequality, climate change, urban development, rural development and food security, governance, and regional cooperation and integration. This serves as the backbone for the majority of their projects up until now.
