Africa plans to drive health security with its youth population

Africa is putting its young people front and center in the latest efforts to advance health security on the continent in the post-COVID-19 world.

With over 60% of its population under the age of 25 — they are also expected to make up 42% of the global youth population by 2030 — the continent is a leading example of the global demographic shift toward younger generations.

In a bid to tap into the power of this demographic, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has launched health initiatives targeting the youth.
