Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd was in China to attend the closing of the Shanghai World Expo Oct. 30. Australia’s exhibit was among the most popular at the expo, according to a foreign ministry news release.

From Shanghai, the minister was set to travel to Beijing for meetings with Chinese government officials, businessmen and scholars. These meetings would focus primarily on how to further enhance Australia and China’s engagement on issues of mutual interest, such as sustainable development, trade and regional and global economic stability.
