Dereje Wordofa is the president of SOS Children’s Villages. Over the past three decades, Wordofa’s career took him from program officer in the field to a diplomatic role as the assistant secretary-general of the U.N. Population Fund. He has lived in six countries in Africa, Europe, and North America, and his travels have taken him to 70 more.
