Mark Newton

Dr. Mark Newton is a professor of clinical anesthesiology, a pediatric anesthesiologist, and serves as director of Vanderbilt International Anesthesia (VIA) and chief of anesthesiology at Kijabe Hospital in Kenya. Dr. Newton and his family moved to Kenya in 1997, where he developed a nurse anesthesia program in East Africa based at Kijabe Hospital. Over the last 20 years, he has also been involved in developing anesthesia capacity building projects in South Sudan, Somaliland, and Ethiopia.
