Rafael Jose Vargas Alves is a clinical oncologist at Hospital Santa Rita and at Oncoclínicas Group in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is a professor at Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre and a preceptor and a supervisor of the medical residency at the UFSCPA/ISCMPA program in clinical oncology. He also coordinates the ISCMPA Cancer Registry. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Epidemiology from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. His research interests are cancer epidemiology and health economics.
