Joe Powell

Joe Powell is the deputy chief executive officer of the Open Government Partnership. He leads OGP’s global engagements, including working with the OGP Steering Committee, OGP Summits, and linking OGP with other multilateral processes. He previously worked for the ONE Campaign, where he was managing ONE’s global campaign for increased transparency in the extractive industries. As senior policy and advocacy Manager at ONE, Joe also led global advocacy on the G20 and policy development for the 2013 G8.

Joe Ryan serves as the executive director for energy innovation at Crux Alliance. He marshals and manages resources for organizations dedicated to the rapid adoption of sectoral climate policies in key countries around the world. Crux is committed to ensuring policymakers and other stakeholders on the ground and in-country have the best available information on policy design to reduce carbon emissions at speed and scale.

Joe Stone serves as Cargill’s corporate vice president and platform leader of Cargill Animal Nutrition. Stone joined Cargill in 1985 and has held various leadership positions. In 2005, he joined Cargill Animal Nutrition. Stone holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska.

Joe Studwell has worked as a freelance writer and journalist in east Asia for 25 years. He was the founding editor of the China Economic Quarterly and was also a founder and director of the Asian research and advisory firm Dragonomics, now GaveKal Dragonomics. He is a author of three books. As well as writing and researching, Joe is a frequent public speaker at academic events, corporate conferences and government fora.

Joe Wilson is a market access adviser in the Center for Accelerating Innovation and Impact at the U.S. Agency for International Development. Before joining USAID, he worked for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Ethiopia on innovative finance and market access. He has nearly a decade of experience in the private sector working in finance and pharmaceuticals, and is the co-founder of the House of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit supporting orphaned children in Kenya.

Joel B. Smith is principal at Abt Associates. He has been analyzing climate change impacts and adaptation issues for more than 25 years. Prior to coming to Abt, Smith was a coordinating lead author or lead author on the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and a member of the U.S. National Climate Change Assessment Federal Advisory Committee and was a member of the National Academy of Sciences “Panel on Adapting to the Impacts of Climate Change.”
