Shaya Laughlin is a senior research analyst at the Beirut-based think tank Triangle where she leads the data analysis for research projects in Lebanon and Syria. Shaya holds a bachelor of Journalism from Bond University, Australia, and a masters of International Relations from the University of Saint Joseph in Lebanon.

Shayera Dark is a freelance writer based in Lagos, Nigeria. She has written for publications that include The Verge, The Africa Report, Al Jazeera, and LitHub.

Dr. Shekhar Saxena is a visiting professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. A psychiatrist by training, he worked at the World Health Organization for 20 years holding the position of director of the department of mental health and substance abuse. His expertise includes providing advice and technical assistance to policymakers on prevention and management of mental, developmental, neurological, and substance use disorders and suicide prevention. He has authored more than 300 scientific papers, including in high impact journals.

Shelley McKinley is the vice president of Microsoft’s Technology and Corporate Responsibility group based in Redmond, Washington. TCR delivers on Microsoft’s mission of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more by driving the use of technology to benefit society, through leadership and innovation of technology in Accessibility and Environmental Sustainability, connecting underserved communities with internet access, deeply engaging with civic leaders and universities on the use of technology, and driving the company’s overall corporate responsibility.

Shelley Spencer leads NetHope’s Payment Innovations consulting team and the organization’s Visa Innovation Grants program. A lawyer by education, Spencer is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. mobile telecommunications industry who started out as an attorney and then moved to the business side, helping found and run several small mobile carriers later acquired by Sprint.

Shenggen Fan is chair professor and dean of the Academy of Global Food Economics and Policy at China Agricultural University. Prior to joining CAU, he served as director-general of the International Food Policy Research Institute from 2009 to 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in applied economics and an M.Sc. in agricultural economics.

Sherina Munyana is a development professional with over 12 years of experience working on grants and the financial management of projects focusing on value chains and local capacity building. She is co-founder and CEO at Sanitation Solutions Group, a market-based social enterprise in Uganda that aims to scale up the provision of improved sanitation products and services through the private sector.

Shikuku Obosi is Sightsavers’ disability inclusion technical adviser on secondment for DFID.

Shila Ukumbini Salim is the executive director of Kilifi Youth for Sustainable Development, an inclusive youth-led organization determined to support young people located in Kilifi County, Kenya. She specializes in sexual and reproductive health and rights advocacy.

Shingai Machingaidze is an epidemiologist and public health specialist. She has developed and led public health and clinical research programs that build the capacity of Africa-based scientists and institutions. She is currently the senior science officer for Africa CDC in the office of the director, as well as the International Conference on Public Health in Africa secretariat lead.
