Tasimba Mhizha, Ph.D., is the project manager and lead of laboratory, surveillance and data on the CDC-funded Enhancing Global Health Security program. He has worked in the Zimbabwe health sector for more than eight years.

Tatiana Olarte

Tatiana Olarte is the gender and vulnerable populations expert for the USAID/Colombia Human Rights Activity. She brings 10 years of expertise on gender and vulnerable populations, positioning the Human Rights Activity as an international example of social inclusion and promotion of women’s and LGTB rights. Tatiana has also worked with the Colombian government’s presidential adviser for gender equity, Amnesty International and she has been a consultant for the World Bank.

Tausif Akhtar Janjua

Dr. Tausif Akhtar Janjua has more than 20 years of experience in conceiving, planning and implementing community-based public health initiatives in rural and underserved environments. He has worked with the Micronutrient Initiative since 2007 and became director for Pakistan in 2012. He leads overall development, design and management of MI Pakistan’s country programs in consultation with MI Asia and MI headquarters.

Ted Horbulyk

Ted Horbulyk is an economist at the International Water Management Institute in Colombo, whose research interests include environmental, agricultural and resource economics, and public policy. His work examines potential gains from improved water allocation and water quality, such as through regulatory, governance and policy reforms, and through the use of targeted investments.

He serves on the House of Foreign Affairs and Judiciary committees and was appointed chairman of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade.

Ted Turner

Throughout his career, Ted Turner has won recognition for his entrepreneurial acumen, sharp business skills, vision that transformed television, leadership qualities that won sports championships, and unprecedented philanthropy. Turner began his career as an account executive with Turner Advertising Company and entered the television business in 1970 when he acquired Atlanta independent station channel 17. In 1980, Turner launched CNN, the world’s first live, 24-hour global news network. Turner has also made his mark as one of the most influential philanthropists in the U.S. In September 1997, Turner announced his historic pledge of up to $1 billion to United Nations causes through the creation of the United Nations Foundation (UNF). The organization supports the goals and objectives of the United Nations to promote a more peaceful, prosperous and just world. UNF has identified four core priorities: women and population; children’s health; the environment; and peace and security.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was elected World Health Organization director-general for a five-year term by WHO member states in May 2017. In doing so, he was the first WHO director-general elected from among multiple candidates by the World Health Assembly, and was the first person from the WHO Africa region to head the world’s leading public health agency. Prior to his election as director-general, Tedros held many leadership positions in global health, including as chair of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, chair of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, and co-chair of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Board. Following his studies, Tedros returned to Ethiopia to support the delivery of health services, first working as a field-level malariologist, before heading a regional health service and later serving in Ethiopia’s federal government for over a decade as minister of health and minister of foreign affairs.

Temina Madon is executive director of Center for Effective Global Action and provides leadership in the center's scientific development, partnerships, and outreach. She has worked as science policy adviser for the National Institutes of Health Fogarty International Center, where she focused on enhancing research capacity in developing countries. She has also served as science and technology policy fellow for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, managing an extensive portfolio of global health policy issues.
