Ziad Sheikh

Ziad Sheikh assumed the position of country representative of U.N. Women in Nepal in March 2012. Before this, he served as U.N. Women’s Resource Mobilization Lead in New York, HQ and as UNIFEM’s deputy country director in Afghanistan. From 2003-2007, Ziad worked with UNICEF designing and implementing global, regional and country level policy advocacy strategies and campaigns for girls’ education and maternal health, including with UNICEF India. Prior to joining the U.N. system, he served with Save the Children UK.

Ziona Eyob

Ziona Eyob is the communications officer for IISD's Resilience Program, including the National Adaptation Plan Global Network. Bringing 10 years of experience to her role, Ziona has an extensive background in strategic communications for international stakeholders. Before joining the Resilience team, Ziona lead communications for IISD's Energy Program, including the Global Subsidies Initiative.

Zivayi Chiguvare

Zivayi Chiguvare is currently the director of the Namibia Energy Institute, a government-funded national institute at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. He holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Oldenburg, Germany where he specialized in photovoltaics.

Zoe Smith

Zoe Smith is a Devex correspondent based in London, where she works as a journalist and communications consultant. Over more than 15 years, Zoe has written for publications including New Internationalist, The Guardian and Rolling Stone. She established Full Fact, a U.K. nonprofit, in 2010 and continues to provide strategic digital communications advice to the nonprofit sector. Zoe holds a master’s of science in violence, conflict and development from the School of Oriental and African Studies.

Zoleka Mandela

Nelson and Winnie Mandela’s granddaughter, Zoleka Mandela is a supporter of NCD Alliance’s ENOUGH campaign and global ambassador for the Child Health Initiative. A writer and activist, she is the founder of the Zoleka Mandela Foundation.

Zulfiqar Bhutta

Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta is the Robert Harding Inaugural Chair in Global Child Health at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, and the founding director of the Center of Excellence in Women and Child Health, at the Aga Khan University, a unique joint appointment. He was a founding board member of the Global Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and co-chairs the Maternal and Child Committee of WHO eastern Mediterranean region. He is the president-elect of the International Paediatric Association assuming leadership in 2016 and a leading voice for integrated maternal, newborn and child health globally.
