Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has said he wants a commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea to be expanded to a joint commission that would allow for deeper dialogue on cooperation and other related matters, the Korea Herald reports. Mammadyarov, who recently concluded a visit to Seoul, added that he is looking to boost people-to-people, social and regional exchanges between the two countries. Azerbaijan and Korea formally established diplomatic ties in 1992 but their economic ties only fully developed following a meeting between the two countries’ presidents in 2007, the Korea Herald notes.
