Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Europe’s longest-ruling president, assumed office for a fourth term last week. Lukashenko’s re-election has been disputed and beset by violence. The U.S. and European Union snubbed Lukashenko’s gala inaugural ceremony on Jan. 21 in Minsk, The Wall Street Journal reports.
