The government of Cook Islands wants international donors to have better coordination of development initiatives in the country. The Asian Development Bank and several other development partners including the New Zealand Agency for International Development, the European Union and the European Investment Bank are working closely to develop integrated infrastructure development schemes. The projects would involve building ports, water and sanitation systems, and an international airport terminal, as well as investing in renewal energy.
