Details on US Support for Zimbabwe's HIV Programs Emerge

The United States has reportedly promised USD57 million for HIV/AIDS programs in Zimbabwe next year.

U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe Charles Ray announced the commitment during the turnover of a grinding mill donated by the U.S to the People Living with HIV and AIDS organization in the Bikita district, according to The Herald, Zimbabwe’s government-run newspaper.

“We also want to assure that next year our total assistance to Zimbabwe in various programmes to do with HIV and Aids reaches US$57 million and the money will further demonstrate the determination of the American government to reduce the effects of HIV and Aids in Zimbabwe in particular,” Ray was quoted by The Herald.
