Donors Undertake Needs Assessment in Georgia

Representatives from the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the United Nations, and the World Bank head to Georgia to help the war-ravaged nation prepare a post-conflict recovery and reconstruction scheme. The team will assess the needs of displaced people including infrastructure, environment, agriculture, housing, and business environment, as well as the required financial aid to back the recovery program. The report is expected to be completed by October 2008. (“Joint Needs Assessment Begins in Georgia” - World Bank, Sept. 8, 2008)
