In the months after the USAID global funding freeze, the development sector has undergone a significant shift, with the development workforce in Europe also feeling its impact. Since the USAID stop-work order was announced on Jan. 24 this year, Devex data shows there have been 7,118 opportunities in Europe. That’s a drop of nearly 28% compared to the 9,844 opportunities in the equivalent period last year. Data suggests that despite the budgetary cuts and shifts, recruitment in the region remains active with several organizations continuously engaged to hire development professionals.
