Education for all vs. learning

The global community has been successful getting children to school. But it has not focused enough on what children are learning, according to Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children USA. Data show millions of children in sub-Saharan Africa will graduate from primary school unable to read, write and perform basic math.

So what can the aid community do better? We asked Miles on the sidelines of the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative.
