The Romanian Chamber of Deputies adopted a draft law on a loan from the European Investment Bank earmarked for the rehabilitation of the subway system in Bucharest. The draft, Mediafax reports, is pending the adoption of the Senate before it can be enforced. EIB has allocated 395 million euros (USD502 million) for the project, which aims to construct a new mainline of the Bucharest subway to link the city center to the western Drumul Taberei neighborhood by 2015.
