The World Bank is providing $60 million to help Ethiopia complete the construction of two large irrigation schemes.
The funding aims to address a financing gap that prevented the achievement of objectives under a project to promote sustainable irrigation management in Ethiopia. It will be used to finance small post-construction improvement works and cover a sizable increase in the budget earmarked for the execution of the environmental management plan for the Megech-Seraba and Ribb irrigation schemes.
