EU Responds to Sri Lanka Flood Crisis

The European Commission is providing euro2 million (USD2.7 million) worth of emergency humanitarian aid to flood victims in Sri Lanka.

Weeks of torrential rains have caused massive flooding in the Asian country, affecting approximately 1 million people.

The funding will be coursed through international aid groups and will be used to buy and deliver food, water and sanitation supplies and other relief items for the affected population.
