The European Union announced it is ready to disburse aid to Togo under the 9th European Development Fund, thus signaling the resumption of cooperation between Brussels and the African country. According to Felix Kodjo Sagbo, Togo’s Ambassador to Belgium and to the E.U., the decision came after the Togolese Comprehensive Peace Accord was concluded. Aside from the 9th EDF credit, Togo will also receive committed funds under the 6th and 7th EDF and the Stabilization System of the Agricultural Exports Revenues (STABEX) for the 1990-1994 and 1995-1999 periods.
