The European Commission will be providing euro1.55 million (USD2.12 million) to help flood victims in Benin. The money will be used to purchase and distribute food aid, hygiene items, shelter and clean water to the thousands of people affected by the floods caused by the torrential rains that hit the country over the past few months. The commission is also set to provide vouchers and cash as part of a cash-for-work program.
