Female truck drivers for gender equality?

Devex reporter Adva Saldinger interviews IDB’s Julie Katzman.

Sometimes new opportunities for gender equality are right in front of us, but we just miss them.

Julie Katzman, executive vice president and COO of the Inter-American Development Bank, believes gender mainstreaming in international development is all about innovative ways of finding opportunities to promote the goal within projects that are not necessarily focused on women’s empowerment, like building a road or a dam.

Check out the above clip for more insights from Katzman on gender mainstreaming in development.
