Foreign service in crisis as 1 in 4 officers pushed out, AFSA warns

“An exponential crisis of unprecedented proportions.”

That’s how John Dinkelman, president of the American Foreign Service Association, described the state of the country’s foreign service 10 months after the government took a sledgehammer to its diplomatic corps.

“The damage being done will take years — if not decades — to repair,” said Dinkelman at a press briefing Wednesday.
