Garrett: Obama Administration Drags its Feet on Aid

Solving the U.S. recession is on top of the Obama administration's agenda and overshadows most other concerns including global aid programs. That worries Laurie Garrett, senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations. She notes that months after Obama took office, there is still no final budget for development spending and he has yet to name people for key posts in multilateral bodies except United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice and her aides.
