    The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has

    some USD2.8 billion in grants in 2008. The foundation granted USD2.011 billion in 2007, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. Meanwhile, the foundation has also

    USD15 million to help combat African trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness. The five-year grant will be administered by Switzerland-based Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative.
