Get the interview: How to use your CV as a marketing tool

A CV is a marketing tool to get you the interview, so avoid cliches whenever possible. Wilson presented these and other quick CV tips at Devex’s 6th Annual Career Forum in Washington March 28.

Wilson also noted that listing objectives at the top of a CV isn’t always the most effective way to market yourself, “especially when they say something like ‘I wish to leverage my personal abilities in management to overcome’ … you just gave me five seconds of absolute nothing,’” Wilson said.
