Health systems are under attack and crumbling in Sudan as government and paramilitary forces battle for control of the country.
The capital city Khartoum has morphed into a battleground over the past week, with the fighting engulfing a number of other states across the country, including the Darfurs and North Kordofa.
Since Saturday almost 330 people have died and almost 3,200 have been injured, according to the World Health Organization — it’s believed the majority of the casualties are civilians and that those figures fall short of representing the actual toll of the violence. At least nine children have died.
