Hoesung Lee, a dean and professor at South Korea’s Keimyung University, is the newest member of the Asian Development Bank’s Advisory Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.

Lee has also been the vice chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 2008. He had served in various leadership positions with the Korean Society for Climate Change Research, Korea Resource Economics Association and the International Association for Energy Economics.

ADB created the climate change advisory group in May 2009 to help its members address the various impacts of climate change and facilitate their transition into low carbon economies. The group is chaired by Rajendra Pachauri, who also chairs the IPCC and is director-general of the Energy and Resources Institute.
