How Pfizer went back to the drawing board

Caroline Roan, Pfizer’s vice president of corporate responsibility, outlines what the company is doing to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

How do you solve health problems for people around the world, whether or not there’s a market for it today? Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer is aiming to bring medicine to more people by starting small.

On the sidelines of Devex World, Caroline Roan, Pfizer’s vice president of corporate responsibility, told Devex President and Editor-in-Chief Raj Kumar what the company is doing to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Roan discussed the company’s shift toward working directly with entrepreneurs in order to boost access to medicine.

Through cash support, for example, Pfizer is encouraging entrepreneurs with good ideas to begin to scale and, in addition, the company is looking for new financing mechanisms to help them achieve these goals.
