The European Union is one of the most generous funders of international development projects, and its aid agencies are among the most sought-after employers for international development professionals in Europe.

Getting a job with the Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation, or EuropeAid, can be a long, arduous process, and competition is stiff. What qualities, skills and experiences are hiring managers looking for in job candidates? How can applicants avoid some of the most common mistakes?
