IDB Boosts Latin American, Caribbean ICT Sector

The Inter-American Development Bank has approved USD2 million worth of financing in a bid to boost the development of information and communication technology in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The financing, which will be drawn from IDB’s Multilateral Investment Fund, will benefit seven projects chosen through MIF’s Program for Innovation in Information and Communications Technology for Electronic Business and the Development of SME.

The projects are located in Ecuador, El Salvador, Bolivia, Colombia, the Bahamas, Argentina and Trinidad and Tobago. They are expected to benefit more than 8,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
