The Inter-American Development Bank will lend some USD380 million to back Uruguay’s road and social safety net programs. The sum includes a USD200 million credit line for multisector projects under the country’s safety net program for poor children and adolescents. The rest will be used to rehabilitate the South American nation’s road networks and improve the mass public transportation in the capital, Montevideo.
