The Ikea Foundation has made it a priority to work with local partners in humanitarian response and emergency preparedness.

The foundation’s humanitarian aid strategy focuses on three things: having partnerships in place with clear action plans that can be deployed quickly, investing in building capacity in local organizations and involving beneficiaries in designing the response.

In partners and the way the work they look for “the most effective solution, the most efficient solution,” said Per Heggenes, the CEO of the Ikea Foundation in an interview with Devex at the World Humanitarian Summit in May.
