The Adventist Development and Relief Agency is implementing a poverty reduction project in central Bangladesh that focuses on disaster preparedness and community resilience against floods that strike the country annually, the aid agency said in a statement. The Empowering Flood-Prone Poor Communities project provides communities with skills they need to prepare for and deal with the annual floods through workshops and training sessions. The project also includes upgrading roads, houses and other infrastructure in the country and hosting various livelihood activities in affected communities.
The EFPPC is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the Swedish Mission Council.
