In Haiti, American Red Cross Unveils New Anti-cholera Schemes

The American Red Cross unveiled Feb. 1 new anti-cholera programs in Haiti worth USD7.4 million.

The new programs form part of the aid group’s USD14.4 million commitment to combat cholera in Haiti, of which USD11.4 million has already been spent or in the pipeline.

The American Red Cross will directly implement USD4.3 million of the new programs that include increasing awareness on hygiene and providing oral rehydration salts. The remaining USD3.1 million will support the work of Save the Children and International Medical Corps in fighting cholera in Haiti.
