Iran is hampering Iraq’s chances of establishing a new government, according to a poll conducted by a private Iraqi firm, Asharq Research Center. The survey reveals that 41.2 percent of the 12,000 respondents think Tehran is meddling to fill a void in Iraqi politics five months after a national election failed to form a new government. Other countries such as the United States, Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Syria were also pointed out in the poll as interfering in Iraq’s political transition, AFP reports.
