The Philippines has secured a loan worth 9.91 billion yen (USD109.6 million) from the Japan International Cooperation Agency to finance the Post Ondoy and Pepeng Short-Term Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.
The loan will fund the rehabilitation of damaged flood control facilities, roads and bridges, according to a press release by JICA. Luzon, specifically Manila as well as the central and northern part of the Philippines, was badly hit by two major typhoons in late September and early October 2009.
