Kenyan Airport Gets Joint EIB-AFD Aid

The European Investment Bank and French Development Agency, or AFD, have agreed to provide USD186 million, or USD 93 million each, to upgrade the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya.

EIB will also provide a grant worth USD6 million from the EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund to minimize inconveniences in project implementation, according to a joint press release. The technical assistance grant aims to ensure smooth transition of airport operations during the construction and rehabilitation of terminals.
