Kyrgyzstan has sealed a “threshold” agreement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a U.S. agency in charge of managing President George W. Bush’s pet aid program. “[The] two-year program with the budget of USD16 million aims to promote independence and efficiency of the judicial system, development of better functioning and creditable internal affairs bodies, betterment of government’s capacities in investigation and prosecution of corruption episodes, enlightenment of the population via the media, and improvement of the system of financial frauds exposure,” a press release was quoted as saying.
