United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon said Liberia is at “a critical juncture” in its post-civil war recovery as the nation prepares for its second democratic elections later this year.

“It is important that the National Elections Commission remains objective, transparent and balanced, and maintains a level playing field, while adhering to the electoral calendar,” according to Ban’s new report to the Security Council.
