Until recently many European countries accused Libya of funding terrorism. However, the extradition of Libyan suspects in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the scrapping of the Libyan nuclear program have led to international rehabilitation. Last week, Khadafi was by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, while this week Libya and Spain have concluded various contracts for increased economic cooperation. Spanish companies won contracts worth EUR 12 billion in defense, road and power plant construction. (Radio Netherlands)
