    Malawi is expected to

    of 2 million euros (USD 2.88 million) from the Irish aid agency. The funding will be spent on a program that aims to support the country's small farmers. Of the total sum, around 1.2 million euros will help finance a government program subsidizing fertilizers, pesticides and seeds. The remaining sum will support three local agricultural research centers on their efforts to improve yields and farming techniques in developing countries.
